Jet Lag

With the trip to Thailand and back in December just to turn around and head back the first of January, I feel like I’ve been dealing with jet lag for a month. This is F and I’s First time dealing with such a large time difference (13 hours!) and it’s gonna take a while to power through. For now our mornings seem to start at 4 AM. The good news is that we shouldn’t have any problems getting to school at 7:15 tomorrow to meet his new PreK teacher!

Forest will now go to school 5 days a week, which I think he’s ready for. At age 5 he is all about hanging out with other kids and kickin it with his homebody momma all day just isn’t cutting it.
We’ve managed to do a little exploring in our area. We’ve met some nice families who have been welcoming and helpful with getting us situated. Forest so far LOVES Thailand. He’s so excited about his new school and the new friends he’s met so far. Some new friends took us to  a yummy restaraunt, Sweet Poppy, which an amazing outdoor play space that Forest never wanted to leave.

We also headed to the nearby mall to pick up some essentials and F was thrilled that they were having a huge LEGO display and sale. He also had his head rubbed in public for the first time (we expected this to happen from time to time) but he handled it well and even gave the lady a shy smile. Seeing him transition so well has made it an easier transition for me. I feel like I can manage anything but as a mom, my first concern is ushering him through it. Please pray that he starts school with a bang and makes lots of new friends and that his new teacher is a great fit.

We’ve arrived!

Posting from my phone so I’ll keep it short and sweet. Movers showed up to pack us up on Dec 26. We headed to Bangkok on the morning of Jan 1 and arrived at our temporary apartment at 2 AM on Jan 3. The flights were rough as F and I both had miserable motion sickness and went through several air sickness bags (sorry fellow passengers!). He’s still sleeping it off this morning which is why I had time to give a brief update. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes!
